Talking about fictional worlds and characters like they're real and still pretending to be sane. she/they. 90% Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V, 5% other Yu-Gi-Ohs, 5% other things.
Hero Tenet 1: Give people a good greeting Hero Tenet 2: Try not to give up Hero Tenet 3: Eat well, sleep well Hero Tenet 4: If you're troubled, talk to someone Hero Tenet 5: You're likely to succeed if you try
My HC is that the ending of 5ds happened 2 years before the Friendship Cup, so Jack and Crow are the only ones still living in Neo Domino. And after Zarc’s defeat, Crow wanted to introduce the new king to everybody else.
So, as you might be able to tell Im not great with drawing characters from a side on view. But! Im trying to challenge myself and my artwork throughout Arc-V Month so I thought id try!
@arcvmonthDay 7: Of Amores, Per the Prophecy That’s right, today is the day to celebrate your favorite ships of all time! Show us your sweet OTPs, OT3s, or any sort of polys, and spread the love all around!
Ah, I didn’t do this before, but i had such a cool idea, and i wanted to make it a reality! I don’t have access to my tiny sketchbook right now, so i had to do it all digitally, which i don’t have much experience with. I don’t usually like drawing like this, but the idea was so cool i just had to.
Anyways…Lustershipping! I really like this ship. I love how the card Crystal Rose connects them. Yeah!
Late again, but catching up. XYZ Day! I am a little biased towards the XYZ dimension, considering that XYZ summoning always has and always will be my favorite summoning method. On top of that, the cast was extremely loveable, I constantly found myself wishing for more screentime for them. Ah well… Here’s Yuto, one of my favorite XYZians. He deserved so much better, frfr.
Homestly, Ute is so fun to theorize for. I think its kind of sad that we know very little about him compared to the other Dragon Boys. One day, while I was having Think Session I had a dumb idea. What if Ute was a prepper before the war? What if the Academia invasion happened and Ute was like ‘Yes, I know exactly what to do’. And not any sort of prepper-I bet he had whack as hell theories that a zombie or alien apocalype was right around the corner? And I bet he is 100% the type to run a podcast, being the empathetic person he is-wanting to share his knowledge from hours scouring wikipedia and incredibly niche blogs.
I bet he made Shun aware, but hid it from Ruri- although she would have found out and thought it was super cute. While Shun would have thought it interesting but kind of silly before the war, I bet he went running straight to Ute (after searching high and low of Ruri of course) to figure out what to do next, with his highly niche, autistic ass knowledge of what to do when The War of The Worlds is literally happening in your city.
Also… a little bit of an in joke with myself with the AC/DC (or BC in this case lol). In Aus we call pick-up trucks utes (pronounced yoot intead of yoo-toh of course) so Ute is the Australian Dragon Boy in my mind.
i don’t know why but i’m so enamored with height charts. i loveee drawing all my little guys standing in a row next to each other so you can see how they relate to each other size wise. i love seeing official height charts of my favorite characters so i know how small or tall they are. i just love height charts
Oh boy. Headcanons day. Okay so I happen to have a LOT of headcanons for a lot of characters! Some are pretty small, some are more defining for me, but regardless, I’ve got so many headcanons that the world simply isn’t ready for all of them.
To counter this, I decided to focus on just one character. Shun Kurosaki, my favorite character in Arc-V. (But that was pretty obvious, wasn’t it?)
I’ll do what I can to explain the appearance headcanons I have for him here, so here we go!!
RR Patch: I mean… He loves his birds! Ruri originally stitched this bad boy onto Shun’s trenchcoat, and he’s adored the addition ever since. It proudly shows off what deck he uses, and more importantly, his love for the monsters in it. He also has a similar patch on his riding suit that was put on at his request after he kept winning underground duels.
Scarf: Shun’s scarf is one of the most important things to him. It symbolizes the rebellion and his desire to fight. Before the rebellion, however, he really liked to wear scarves on his arms and around his neck. Not all of them were red. Most of them had designs and patterns on them, and the majority of them were given to him by Ruri or Yuto. On top of the scarf bringing him comfort and showing what he stands for, Shun also wears it to hide the many scars on his neck.
Neck Scars: Speaking of: Those! Shun got those in various ways, and he doesn’t exactly like talking about them. One of the most embarrassing ways, however, was letting one of his monsters carry him by his shoulders. We know that Duel Monsters can cause very real damage, and it just so happened that Shun himself had that happen to him. Well, at least he knows not to do it again.
Tats and Lashes: Shun has always wanted a tattoo. At first, he got one of a spade on his wrist to represent his branch in Heartland Academy. That was kind of a trial thing. After that, he wanted another one, but something a little more personal to him. Shun loved birds since childhood, and sometimes he even dreams of having wings in order to fly like one. With this in mind, he got the idea of his second tattoo: Wings on his back. As for the lashes… Fusioners are mean. Shun suffered a lot during the war, and as such, he has lots of scars and blemishes all over his body to reflect his hardships. The trenchcoat covers most of them, at least.
Eyes and Hair: Shun’s eyes are already a pretty striking color, but somehow, I believe that they deserve to be MORE striking. As such, they’re brighter now. With the hair? Well… ALL Yugioh hair is fluffy to me. It looks stiff, but I wanna run my fingers through it anyways. So it’s just soft and fluffy to me. Though Shun never lets anyone touch his hair.
Earrings and Polish: Ruri got Shun the earrings he likes to wear. He never really thought about getting his ears pierced until he took note of her and Yuto wearing the same kind of earrings. And so he just decided to hop on the train. The same thing kind of happened with the polish too, but Shun doesn’t really put it on too much, especially considering that he’s got shaky hands and he’s AWFUL about letting it dry.
Criminal Mark: And finally, the criminal mark. Honestly? I’m surprised he never got one in canon. I mean, he fought 10 prisoners and probably attacked several other people. They should’ve absolutely marked him for that. And so I corrected this “mistake” by giving him his very own criminal mark under his right eye. It’s vaguely in the shape of a wing, though that was probably unintentional by the markers themselves. They just wanted the world to know that Shun was a “bad guy” and everything.
Aaaand that’s pretty much the gist of my appearance headcanons for Shun! I have many others for him, but for now, I’ll simply stick to his looks/how I tend to portray him in my work (when not drawing him as a furry, that is).
